Passaic water main break shuts down streets

PASSAIC — A water main break flooded parts of Paulison Avenue and sent water gushing down Oak Street, which police said would continue to be closed until emergency crews could make repairs.
No accidents or injuries were reported, Passaic Sgt. John O’Donnell said, “just a lot of water.”
Residents said that water pressure in their homes was down significantly.
The break was reported at 7 a.m.
“I brushed my teeth this morning with low water pressure, and I did not know what was going on,” said Ray Glaze, 27, who lives nearby.
Street closures included Oak Street, between Lafayette and Paulison avenues, and Paulison Avenue between Eighth Avenue and Grant Street.
