PATERSON — City and county law enforcement officers are investigating the fatal stabbing early Saturday of a man who was found covered in blood at a Walnut Street house.
Paterson police were called to the home shortly after 2 a.m. and found a Hispanic man in his 20s lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds. Paramedics responded to the scene, gave medical attention, and transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Police were notified later in the morning that the man died.
Police are withholding the name of the victim and other identifying information until his family is located and notified, Paterson Lt. Richard Reyes said.
Detectives from the city police department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are conducting the investigation. Reyes said officers are following some leads.
Anybody with information about the slaying is asked to contact the Paterson Police Department’s detective bureau at 973-321-1120.
