Car hits Clifton teen pedestrian, seriously injures him

CLIFTON — A 15-year-old city boy was seriously injured when a car hit him as he crossed Route 46 Sunday night, police said.
A Honda Civic driving west on Route 46 hit the boy at Seventh Street just before 8:30 p.m., a police statement said. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center with injuries to his head, legs and shoulder.
The boy’s injuries were considered serious but not life-threatening, police said Monday.
The 66-year-old driver, a Clifton woman, was not injured. The police department’s traffic division is investigating the crash and asks anyone with information to call 973-470-5905.
