PATERSON – A car broadsided an adult daycare bus Wednesday afternoon sending seven people to the hospital, police said.
The bus was crossing Union Avenue at the Elberon Avenue intersection at 1:50 p.m. when a Mercedes-Benz C55 hit its side. The sedan’s two passengers and driver, Hayrettin A. Kansay, 18, of Little Falls, were taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for neck and back injuries, as were four of the six bus passengers. The injuries were not life-threatening.
The Mercedes had the right-of-way, according to police, and it was unclear if the bus driver obeyed the stop sign.
“We can’t prove he didn’t stop,” Lt. Alex Popov said.
No summonses have been issued.

When part of Maitland Avenue off of Totowa Ave became a one way street, the traffic on Elberon doubled if not tripled. The intersection of Elberon and Union has seen an increase of traffic and auto accidents. This I know to be a fact, because the accidents all occur right in front of my doorstep.
